Opelika Community of Hope

As project Managers for City of Opelika, Casey Family Program’s Community of Hope Initiative, Mobile Studio is coordinating a multivalent, community-based effort to strengthen families, reduce childhood trauma, build resilience and improve community health equity. In partnership with East Alabama Medical Center, Community of Hope is creating a mobile health clinic designed to reach members of the community beyond access to health care and connect them to services and opportunities in a welcoming environment.  Auburn University outreach students and faculty will bring inter professional teams of nurses, pharmacists, social workers, artists and community planners to the clinic providing an integrative model of trauma informed and resilience building care.

Working with the Community Planning Synthesis Studio, the City of Tuskegee Alabama, Tuskegee University partners and citizens, Mobile Studio creates a sustainable road map for economic growth and revitalization for the City and greater Macon County. Storybook Farm and Garden

Storybook Farm‘s Garden is a place of rest and delight. The garden is a space of growing and gathering, relaxing and rejoicing in the life cycles of the earth. Storybook Garden was designed to provide hands-on opportunities for Storybook Farms numerous volunteers and supporters. Every brick was made by hand from local clay and concrete, every brick layed lovingly to create accessible beds. The garden is designed to provide respite and healing opportunities for the caregivers, families and many children that participate in Storybook Farms therapeutic horseback riding programs.

Working directly with the Comfort Women Justice Coalition, the City and County of San Francisco Public Art Commission and Recreation & Parks Department, managed the complete process from donor vision to international juried call for Artists submissions to fabrication and installation in public space at Saint Mary’s Square Park in the Chinatown Community of San Francisco.


Montgomery Alabama: Smart City Initiative and Strategic Public Art Plan

Mobile Studio has produced several visionary planning and design documents to guide the growth and development of Alabama’s capitol, Montgomery. In 2015 we wrote the Strategic Public Art Plan that has been adopted to guide the equitable and excellent increasing role of public art as creative placemaking  for years to come. Mobile Studio additionally produced a Smart City Initiative with City Planning that put MGM on the map!
